Wisconsin bad news:Justice Prosser has ethics charges filed, recalled Senator resigns

The late Friday afternoon news dump from Republicans in Wisconsin has become a predictable thing:

Remember Justice David Prosser, who tried to choke another justice in anger?

Quote:

Madison - The Wisconsin Judicial Commission filed formal ethics allegations Friday against Justice David Prosser for a June incident in which he placed his hands on the neck of Justice Ann Walsh Bradley.

The commission found Prosser violated three provisions of the ethics code for state judges.

Its request for sanctions against Prosser was filed with the state Supreme Court. The confrontation between Prosser and Bradley occurred in front of all but one of the other members of the court.

And recalled Republican State Senator Pam Galloway has resigned, effective midnight tonight, rather than go through the recall election

Quote:

Galloway's resignation will cause the Republicans to lose their Senate majority. Republicans would hold 16 seats and Democrats would hold 16 seats. It marks a dramatic change from a year ago, when Republicans held a commanding 19-14 majority in the Senate. It was narrowed to 17-16 in August when Democrats gained two seats in recall elections.

The new, 16-16 split will be brief, and one side or the other should take control in May or June, when recall elections are expected to be held for state senators. Control of the Senate will again be up for grabs in November, when half the senators will be up for election.

The recall election against Galloway will still move forward even though she will no longer occupy the seat, said Reid Magney, a spokesman for the Government Accountability Board, which runs state elections.

Galloway's resignation also puts into question the Republican-drawn redistricting maps, that are currently undergoing judicial review, and have already been ordered to be redrawn by the judiciary branch

Quote:

"It kind of puts us in a holding pattern for the next two months," Fitzgerald said.

Lawmakers are awaiting a decision from a three-judge panel on whether maps of legislative districts that Republicans drew last year pass constitutional muster. If the federal judges find the maps were improperly drawn, they will likely send them back to the Legislature.

That would mean Republicans and Democrats would have to agree on any new election maps. If they could not, the judges would have to draw them.

Your fascination with this Judge is amazing!

You realize tens of thousands of women were beaten today just cause they wore the wrong outfit?

Yet you worry about a senior citizen judge whose victim is already confirmed OK?

Your ability to completely ignore his violence in the workplace against a woman is scary.
Your ability to dismiss the workplace violence of a judge in your state, while concern-trolling for women you don't know "elsewhere", is scary. You disparaging concern for a woman whose throat was grabbed at work is scary.

Tell us, Dell - what have you done today to help all those women being beaten today elsewhere? You know, places where you can't control it? While you ignore and insult concern over the violence where you can control it? Local violence? Workplace violence in your public officials? That's not good enough for your attention?

I have repeatedly and consistently recognized and voiced their plight instead of ignoring them or in your case denying the occurance of abuse, thus enabling the abuser.

I have little concern Judge Prosser will be beating any women anytime soon.

Sadly the same can't be said for Muhamad's ten wives or Muamar's six. The acceptance of abuse you are willing to look away from and dismiss as cultural while pursuing an agenda against this Judge is disgusting and highly hypocritical.

But admittedly consistent with your dismissal of the sexual attack on a American reporter by a hoard of Egyptians not too long ago.

Is she still OK, in your feeble mind?

Wisconsin Republican majority in the Senate is gone. The extra legislative sessions that Walker wanted to hold, to push through the rest of his legislative goals before he undergoes the recall elections, won't happen, unless Walker makes concessions to the Democrats.

The vacant seat due to Galloway's resignation will be filled during the recall elections.

Recall elections: June 5th. Primaries May 8th.

Last day of school for UMad's spring semester May 24rth.

BTW Nice deflection from the subject at hand, abuse towards women.

Guess you just can't handle the truth that more than just a small portion of women in this world finds themselves in situations that are deplorable day in and day out, with no hope of change from the U.S. or anyone else; women who can't reach out to family because family is the abuser. Imagine a little girl unable to aspire to be anything but a slave to anyone her father sees fit to serve as master. Those are the lucky ones. The unlucky ones behave not to please their fathers but rather to keep their honor in tact so as not to be killed by them, many times with the mother involved either actively or passively in the murder.

Yet you focus your attention on a single situation that may or may not have occurred and involved no permanent injury to anyone.

The subject at hand in this thread is Wisconsin political machinations.

You are trolling this thread trying to start a fight over a different topic. BTW, I don't appreciate you lying about "what I think".

If you want to start an, "I hate Muslims, and you should, too" thread, have at it.
