Maybe he joined the military because of that rock climbing propaganda commercial a few years back? Can't say I blame the guy for snapping.

This could turn out to be a "Kent State" watershed event in what is now Obama's folly in Afghanistan. More than gas prices, this may turn out to be the beginning of the end for the Big O. If a sharp Republican came in now as an anti-war candidate with center-right leanings (not extreme right), I believe that could be a "game change."

it's been time to get out for years. over ten years in that shithole now.

In political terms, it is a delicate balance. Polls indicate that the majority of Americans favor a quicker end to the war. But early retreat has its own drawbacks.

didn't read the article, but of course there would be drawbacks. however, spending more time probably wouldn't mean that the drawbacks later would be fewer. just look at iraq since we left. they're killing kids while police stand and do nothing because they're not dressing the way the killers think they should.
we should not have spent all this time, obviously. the morons in the white house and congress who put us in this position made a mistake. making more mistakes on top of that doesn't make it any more palatable. we have wasted lives, ruined others, and spent billions upon billions for a country worth millions. some precision strikes at the taliban would have served a similar purpose without all the cost in blood and money. over ten years later, we're still doing what exactly? |

Preaching to the saved...Said a million times, in and out in one year, wipe out the terrorist camps, rout the Taliban, run down and kill bin laden and we are done...never happened...here's why.. Ten years ago today: President George W. Bush declared at a news conference that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was a menace "and we're going to deal with him," and said Osama bin Laden had been reduced to as marginal figure in the war on terror. How did that work out... |
