2/29: Aqueduct (6th-9th); Gulfstream (6th-10th)

Coming off a breakeven but wholly unproductive weekend where many good opportunities were missed. Solid sequences at AQU & GP to occupy time till Thursday SA carryover..

AQUEDUCT

POST-SCRATCHES

6th: S/HCP, 4+, 1m-70y (P4, P3, DD, Super)

Most Likely: #3 Midnite Silver 2-1 WON ($4.70)
Best Value: #6 I Love It 12-1 2nd
Next Best: #1 Good Law 7-2 5th
Exotics Use: #7 Budge Man 5-2 3rd

7th: NY-MSW, F&M-3+, 1m (P3, DD, Super)

As discussed with Andy Serling on Tuesday ATR, Elusive Rumor is the stranger to work around given the established shortcomings of the first three choices..

Best Value: #4 Elusive Rumor 6-1 3rd
Next Best: #1a (POE) Bent On Glory 2-1 2nd
Exotics Use: #3 Notell 3-1 WON ($7.60)
Super Add: #8 Sugar Beach 5-1 4th

8th: NY-ALW/N1X, 3yo, 6f (DD, Super)

Unusually confusing set of five. 8-5 Bizarroworld technically cleared this condition when crossing wire first before being taken down 12/29. 6-1 Silent Thunder wins this with a return to his best when with Gullo and even 15-1 Cat Paws is conceivable with Aro-Caraballo adding blinkers after fiasco in Sportswriter's big win mid-January..

Most Likely: #2 Bizarroworld 8-5 3rd
Best Value: #3 Silent Thunder 6-1 4th
Exotics Use: #5 Cat Paws 15-1 WON ($20.60)

Some nice pedigree connections among the debutters including Don Adam homebred Adrina (By A. P. Indy out of MGSW Ready's Gal; half to Machen); Stunning Lady (By Indian Charlie out of owner-breeders' own wonderful MGSW Mystic Lady) and Buleria (Claiborne bred Empire Maker out of MGSW Wend). Thx.. Fingers crossed here. I rarely hit the 'all' so I'd like to see it be worthwhile. I've always read and been advised against it, but it seemed like an imperitive in that 8th.

asiarush 02-29-2012 03:58 PM

yowserrrrrrrrrr!

Coach Pants 02-29-2012 03:59 PM

Tough beat. I'm feeling nauseous.

pointman 02-29-2012 04:00 PM

That is a brutal beat Steve. :(

knickslions2 02-29-2012 04:05 PM

Tough one!

Kasept 02-29-2012 04:16 PM

Grrrr.. That was too bad.

Remember we got the tight photo earlier to even be in position for a decent hit, so losing that photo stings but isn't crushing. To win that sequence, I needed to be more confident in Midnite Silver.

Sorry to those that rode along! Hope some might have gotten a double or P3 with Cat Paws in it or a bob on his nose..
