2/16: Fair Grounds (6th-9th); Santa Anita (5th-8th)

Wasn't hitting the Aqueduct carryover P6 Thursday with implausable Bail Out the Banks coming up a winner in the 2nd leg, but got sloppy in the late P4 leaving $160 in Bail Out Byk money on the table. Originally 3x2 with Midnight Visit included in the 8th, I tinkered to a 2x3 to get Believe in Betty on the quad play. You can next Believe in Betty when she returns to turf in the spring. It was an odd day with all the winner identified, but tricky to weave together on the big multis.

The highlight of the day was Coosada's $23.20 win in the 7th which helped mollify the misses. Between Ausable Chasm's exasperating non-effort as the favorite in the 3rd and the subsequent miscues, it wasn't the most enjoyable afternoons. Hope everyone did at least OK with some of the OK individual race results. Fair Grounds has the first mid-week card that has been interesting to me today with a couple of very good 3yo MSW's and top notch ALW on tap. Good sequence later at Arcadia as well!

A difficult card today at Santa Anita. Should be some good opportunities to find a few prices.

Kasept 02-16-2012 08:58 AM

Neil Howard says he expects races to come off the turf today at FG..

blackthroatedwind 02-16-2012 09:05 AM

Steve, the only thing Believe in Betty should be doing with turf is eating it. She certainly won't be winning racing on it....or any other surface.

Gate Dancer 02-16-2012 09:05 AM

I like this sequence and your picks in the FG races, but I really feel Infrattini is going to run a good one today.

pucknut 02-16-2012 10:35 AM

is twelve folds a solid single?
the surface change cut back and wheel right back
all are confidence indicators

'Horses run good... What a surprise!'

Steve: Sir Bond didn't have a problem with this field. Do you know if he is going to try to go all the way to the Derby?

Neil Howard is a race at a time guy, but as you heard this morning, he thinks this is a very talented colt.

Imagine Louisiana Derby next April 1.

Like the change of the avatar Steve, Gary was a great ball player. 57 is too young.

Thx! Could not believe how he kept floating up and up. Once it came off the turf, he was very viable.
