81 Beyer for Mike Bruder's MDN-breaking Quick Wit.

Romans trainee flatters Pletcher cruiser Spring Hill Farm who beat him by 6.5L 2 wks ago.

Yep. IMO, the Beyer variant shouldn't have been split the day of the SHF and Quick Wit MSW race. A little too much human judgement perhaps.

The Holy Bull was kinda ugly.

At least the Godolphin colt ran huge.

Yes, though they use variants differing by 7 points.

It's been kind of annoying how much that is happening without strong enough reason for it. Would you agree that the pace in the two Sunshine Million dirt routes was the reason -- not a change in the speed of the surface?

The strangest split i ever came across beyer wise was the running of the '03 Smile and Carry Back stakes at Calder. Both winners Shake You Down and Valid Video both ran 1:10 03. and 1:10 15. respectively @ 45 minutes apart. Yet Shake You Down was given a 121 and Valid Video a 114 if my memory serves me well.

Do you have the Beyer for Comisky's Honor, who broke Posse's 5f track record in Sunday's 4th race at Fair Grounds? Thanks.

96...quite a number for a 10k maiden claimer.

Wow. For the sake of comparison, Comisky's Honor had a run-up of 50 feet in his race. Posse had no run-up. Thanks.

It's Humor, not Honor.

Just an FYI.

What kind of form did this horse have? That's pretty crazy shid.

Indian Charlie 02-01-2012 09:38 AM

From Dan Illman of DRF:

What do you make of COMISKY'S HUMOR's 96 Beyer effort in a $10,000 maiden claimer going five furlongs at Fair Grounds on January 29? Trained by Ron Faucheux, 3-year-old Comisky's Humor was beaten 10 3/4 lengths, with a 27 Beyer, in his career debut for $15,000 on January 6. Second-out, he romped by 14 lengths in gate-to-wire fashion. Comisky's Humor, a $14,000 RNA as a short yearling, sold for only $1,200 as a Keeneland yearling. By Sharp Humor out of the solid New York sprinter/router Lexiloush, Comisky's Humor's winning race was faster, on the Beyer scale, than the San Pedro Stakes (Midnight Transfer), Smarty Jones Stakes (Junebugred) and Gulfstream Park Derby (Reveron) earlier in the year. His Beyer was seven points quicker than what Hansen earned (89) when the juvenile champion of 2011 made his sophomore debut last week in the Holy Bull.

I figured it would be something either like that, or that this horse is out of a French Deputy mare.
