12/16 (GP): Notable returns in Friday's 3rd & 9th..

Gulfstream Park - Friday 12/16/11 - Race 3

Interesting Alw OC 75k N1X (2yo 6.5F) features two sons of Bernardini that were impressive in their debuts.

Consortium - Darley homebred won at this distance ($13.50 to 1) versus 11 other runners at Aqueduct last month earning a 77 beyer speed figure.

Algorithms - Starlight runner returns with a nice string of works after a professional debut on June 3rd (BEL) at odds on going 5 furlongs earning a 78 beyer speed figure.

Both have tremendous upside and are worth following at this point.

Personally, I have a Kentucky Derby future ticket on Algorithms at 150-1. Consortium is currently an underlay at 50-1 at Wynn Race Book. My other future bet is on Casual Trick, also by Bernardini at 125-1.

For the record, I won't be changing my moniker to Bernardini 1985 any time soon.

I've been waiting for Algorithms for ages - both the races he entered in this past weekend didn't fill, though I suspect he would have been scratched yesterday. Much as I love him, I have doubts about Algorithms stretching out as his entire female family is full of sprinters despite the dam being by Cryptoclearance.

I like both of these horses. Not because of the breeding, but because of how they both won first out. Being by Bernardini is a plus though when its time to stretch out. Hoping they both move forward and put on a show Friday.

Sharp return by Adios Charlie. Had Stan Hough on this morning and I'm sure he's delighted because he didn't sound convinced that the colt was totally where he wanted him. Sunshine Millions next.

If Adios Charlie stays healthy he could be something at a mile this year

hockey2315 12-16-2011 07:22 PM

86 for Algorithms, 96 for Adios Charlie

So far we Adios Charlie, Mucho Macho Man, Caleb's Posse, To Honor And Serve, and Stay Thirsty as potential Met Mile candidates. Toss in Jackson Bend, Redeemed, Boys At Toscanova, Trickmeister, Dialed In, Morning Line, Shackleford, Wise Dan, Smiling Tiger, Sway Away, Fast Bullet, The Factor, Comma To The Top, Smash, Centralinteligence, Rothko, Genius and Coil as other possibilities.

Only a couple of Pletcher/Repole ex-claimers could foul it up.
