One Sock Down

Debuts tomorrow at Gulfstream.

Pretty cool looking horse -- though the name would be better if it was One Sock Off.

Actually thought this horse was pretty nice at FT Timonioum earlier this year -- only sold for 97K though.

This thread held so much potential considering the title...and all we get is a horse?

Cute little guy though!

Horse appears to also be a 'universal good thing'.. Has a big buzz.

RockHardTen1985 12-07-2011 07:53 PM

The horse is 5-2ML favorite with a few blazing fast workouts.
Ill be playing the pick 3 that ends with this race, Im tossing this guy. Not in love with this trainer first out. I got nothing special. Im using the 5,6.

That buzz is never a good thing with a horse who came the 2yo sales route and already had his big chance to show his hand in my opinion.

The horse had the outright fastest unblinkered 1/4 mile of the session at FT Tim ... but the time was 22 flat and not as many worked it as in the past. 97K is freaking peanuts to pay for that.

Sometimes when you see small-fry connections and a cheap price tag you expect to get a price when they debut and you don't because a lot of buzz comes with the horse. I thought this would be the kind you'd get 8/1 on at Parx in a debut -- and you see 5/2 on the ML at GP.

You think he is a play against? Seems like there are some better options in the race, at better prices.

No. I think he can run.

For whatever reason, so do other people though. Many times these horses won't get bet... this one will because his connections are working him fast and I suppose talking him up.

The value's just not going to be there. Just thought I'd post this though because of the sheer coolness of his name.

Thanks. More importantly, right now though, why isn't gangsterontherun 1-9 right now in the first. Seems to be a huge play against with Ward dropping him in for a dime off a nearly 11 month layoff.

2 & 6 both interesting to me.

A few years ago there was a top show hunter pony around here named "Where's My Sock" who had 3 high whites and one all brown leg. Clever.

Thank, Doug. I normally would have tried to beat him. Between Hossy giving out the winner in the 3rd, I liked the 7 in the 4th and this one, the Pick 3 paid a nice enough $271 for $1

Seattleallstar 12-08-2011 01:41 PM

nice horsey, turned away the Pletcher horse and zoomed away easily

That was mostly all Hossy. I would have never played the ticket had he not said he liked the 5 in the 3rd.

Good Jub Kev, does this mean you are printing out the Western Fair sheets as we speak?
