I was expecting 4/5 or even money. 1/2 is pretty insane. Did he romp? I'm stuck here at work.

i love that naughty new yorker. i cant believe he went off at those odds. i saw that steve picked him too.

blackthroatedwind 09-13-2006 03:45 PM

I'm confused...did you love him before the race ( " too " ) or after?

before, but just for $10. $65 is better than losing.

blackthroatedwind 09-13-2006 03:53 PM

Do you know the word " redboarding "?

Gander 09-13-2006 04:01 PM

I originally liked Spite the Devil but when they were coming down the stretch I changed my mind and liked NNY. I tried to change my bet but the darn tellers wouldnt let me.

I yelled out "You let the Volponi guys do it"! LOL!

i could care less. now if i said i bet $500 it would be one thing. i post on 3 or 4 boards and i know i picked him. why do you care? lost a bundle on the favorite? i guess i should have said i liked him in the first post instead of just saying the favorite would lose.

hoovesupsideyourhead 09-13-2006 04:18 PM

Gander 09-13-2006 04:19 PM

I was making light of it Rev. Sorry, I wasnt doubting you liking him and winning $65 on the race. Good for you. Nice pick and nice cash.

I lost $260 on the race. Life will go on, or at least I hope so. I love tomorrow's card.

i don't think i bet $260 in an entire week. i still am down $40 since the meet began. i should have said i liked him but i know people bet other horses and do not like to get my mind changed, which often happens.

I lost $25...bet a $20 double 6-9 and a $5 4-9....was alive with a ridiculous 20-1 shot and got what I was supposed to.....zip.

I blame Byk for touting me on that silly horse in the finale.

Gander 09-13-2006 05:01 PM

We'll get them tomorrow. I like that card. I've been waiting my whole life to bet a card like that.

Naughty New Yorker wheeled back from the Woodward ... and won.

What would Funny Cide have done here?

We'll never know ... the race wasn't on national TV ... so no chance for the Sack-O-Kakas to extend their 15 minutes of fame.

Gander 09-13-2006 05:13 PM

Who cares how Funny Cide would have done? Why does it matter? And if you owned a horse that won 2/3 of the Triple Crown, you probably would want to only run him in races that were on TV.

Funny Cide might run in the Brooklyn this weekend. I rather win that than this race.

Yeah ... it's got to be a lot of fun watching your horse toss out the anchor ... and drag home 20 lengths behind.

And it matters because anyone who loves this game ... feels embarrassed watching a former champion wobble home in G1 races ... when he could be bounding home in front in races more appropriate to his current ability ... like today's.

Let Funny Cide be Funny Cide.

You'd rather win it ... but Funny Cide won't.

How's that for a prediction, Nostra?
