OUTSIDER Lange (Pablo Sahagian/Juan Pablo Lagos), an Argentina-bred son of Aptitude, was awarded the victory in the Argentinian Derby after second choice and unofficial winner Val Champ was disqualified for causing interference nearing the wire.

Under Edwin Talaverano, Val Champ crossed the line a clear winner but the stewards disqualified him immediately.
