Elway trying to draft the next Elway

Going with Tebow at QB.

1. Will shut the fans up
2. Unless I am seeing it wrong will in all likelyhood get the Broncs the first pick of the draft next year.

It is going to backfire on them because he will win a game or two in a very exciting fashion. That will fan the flames with the fans and it will be a regular Timmy Lovefest to see what he can do for a full season in 2012.

He already got Josh McDaniels fired for drafting him, he now has his sights set on making John Fox's tenure a one and done deal.

it'll put a some more butts in the seats for a bad team. everyone in denver who's been begging for this since preseason now gets their wish.

they get to see a guy who went 4 for 10 passing (completions included a screen pass and the weeks second best catch) replacing orton lead the team.

they'll still be a bad team but the new toy will keep people excited for a few more weeks.

Agree! He will no doubt have flashes where he plays very well. The race for Luck is wide open, Miami, Denver, Indy, Jacksonville certainly in mix at this point.

I will be suprised if he completes over 55% of his passes

MaTH716 10-11-2011 01:39 PM

Denver at Miami this week might have a big say in who eventually lands the first pick.

Good point. Interesting time for a first start. :rolleyes

Denver sells out, the extra butts in the seats mentioned by others is being blown way out of proportion. Might be the first time ever the coach and team president hope their 1st round qb sucks. It would make both of their jobs easier.

MaTH716 10-11-2011 02:11 PM

They actually play next week.

I just think it Miami for a couple of reasons. Obviously they lost Henne (not that he was anything special) for the rest of the season.

They have a lame duck coach, Sparano is a goner. You would think guys will start throwing in the towel.

Their schedule is murder. It just seems like it's the perfect storm for them to end up the worst team in the league.

Jacksonville and the Colts still have to play each other twice which will take at least one team out of the equation.

Antitrust32 10-11-2011 04:11 PM

I :{>: me some Tebow.

slotdirt 10-11-2011 04:12 PM

I'm pretty sure all of the aforementioned teams aren't any worse than just about anybody in the NFC West with the exception of the 49ers. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, Seahawks, and Rams, they all have to play each other.

Broncos went out and got Fox, the only coach with a worse record than McD last year. Josh got himself fired. Attitude with the media and the fans doesn't do well here like in Boston. This is a fickle place when it comes to the Broncos. Kid makes plays anyway you slice it. Always has. I am no Broncs fan but am very curious to see what he does and would not put it past him to win quite a few.

I hope you are right but they will wind up with 3 wins and some other **** team like the Colts will get 2.

They have a few winnable games against the rest of this schedule: at Jets, Denver, at Giants, at Chiefs, Redskins, Bills, at Dallas, Raiders, Eagles, at Bills, at Pats and Jets.

The Jets suck
The Broncos suck
The Giants lost to Seattle, they suck
The Chiefs suck
The Redskins have Rex Grossman, they are beatable
The Bills aren't unbeatable
Dallas has Romo, they are beatable
The Raiders on the road?
The Eagles have proven that losing comes naturally to them and will have a guy from Northwestern at QB by then
They will lose at Buffalo
They will lose at NE
The Jets suck

They actually played ok against the Texans and Chargers. They probably should have won the Browns game. Henne being out hurts (never thought I would say that) but Moore isnt that much worse.

The Colts get the Bengals on the road (they could win, it is the Bengals), at NO (L), at Tenn (L), Atlanta (L), Jacksonville (potential W), Carolina (potential W), at NE (L), at Balt (L), Tenn (L), Houston (L), at Jacksonville (potential W)

They only have 4 prayers of winning. Figure they win 2. No way we can beat that. I cant even bear to look at Jacksonvilles schedule

MaTH716 10-18-2011 09:24 AM

Chuck, they had every opportunity in the world to open that game up very early last night. They did have some moments where I said to myself, that they really aren't that bad. Then they had some moments where I thought that they were worse than I thought.

I can't believe how many passes Brandon Marshall continues to drop. While the defense did play well at times, it very well could have been a product of the Jets futility. But the lack of a pass rush is an absolute killer and that's what's going to due them in on most Sundays. I also couldn't believe at 0-4 that Sparano decided to sit on the ball with about 40 seconds left and a timeout before the half (while behind).

I still think their schedule is brutal. The majority of those teams can throw the ball very well. They better win vs the Broncos next week otherwise there's a chance that they could run the table the wrong way.

Went to bed after the first drive of the second half. At that point I couldn't take anymore.

The desire of both teams to lose this game is very, very strong. I can't wait to see how it plays out. Whichever team loses will be extremely LUCK--eeeee.

King Glorious 10-23-2011 11:18 PM

Say what you want about him but Tebow is clutch. I know they had to get lucky recovering the onside kick to get the ball back and he was pretty dreadful the first three plus quarters. But when it counted most, he delivered and his fourth quarter numbers weren't bad. I've long felt that the guy deserves a shot and that he could be successful. Same with Colt McCoy. Those guys had too much success at too high a level, especially Tebow, to not be able to play. I think he's going to be ok. He just has a knack for winning.
