He was pretty badly injured, no? Last I remember hearing they didn't know if he'd ever race again (poor guy).

Snow Fairy possible...

Danedream, the filly who just won the Grosser Preis Von Baden, is possible.

Baraan is done for the season...

Not sure, really I don't think he has much of a shot, but I took these odds straight off of Ladbrokes and he was included.

We should have a better idea of who all is going after the big preps this weekend. :)

CSC 09-08-2011 05:34 AM

BTW, I do like Meandre but he might go at 8-1 on the day of the race. Too bad Pour Moi was hurt and retired.

Whoa, that Foy looks interesting. Wish I had a link to French racing replays. Is Hiruna d'Amour a pacemaker for Nakayama Festa? We get a chance in the Niel to see if Meandre is for real or he just took advantage a of a weird race-shape in the GP de Paris.

Reliable Man is a really interesting horse, he could run better, he raced without cover for much in his last race and couldn't sustain his run. Or maybe Meandre is really just that good, interesting prep.

Hiruna d'Amour won the (G1) Tenno Sho so I certainly hope not! :)

(Apparently Nakayama Festa is acting lie quite the handful... :D )

There are some good replays here...

The prep that most impressed me was Galikova's, she will be tough to beat if she repeats that closing kick on Arc day, perhaps she will not be referred to as Goldikova's little half sister after Oct 2 when she makes a name for herself, she has the looks of being able to stay the 2400 which was beyond Goldi's best distance. Thinking Meandre had a useful prep as he looks like the best longshot to me.

8-time Group 1 winner So You Think to be aimed at the ‘Arc’
(15th September 2011)

Coolmore today announced that their New Zealand-bred and Australian-raced superstar So You Think will now be aimed at Europe’s premier middle-distance contest, the Group 1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, at Longchamp on October 2nd. “So You Think is in great form and all being well with him, the plan is to run in the ‘Arc’ given reasonable ground conditions,” said trainer Aidan O’Brien.

I'll be at the Arc this year, first time. Glad to see So You Think pointed there, adds a nice touch to the festivities.

my miss storm cat 09-15-2011 06:55 PM

That is awesome! Lucky you!

CSC 09-16-2011 07:52 AM

The Arc and the Melbourne Cup would be on the top of my list of races to see in person, just viewing online it's insanely interesting.

Her name was withdrawn from the Shuka Sho today so I wonder if that means they're closer to sending her here...

Same here, as well as Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Race Day at Sha Tin! That would be amazing.

I think I'd get escorted out from being so uncontrollably excited. :D :o :wf

Have you heard? There is a real good chance Snow Fairy will suit up in the Arc if the ground is to her liking, ladbrokes has her at a post ante 25/1.

As a longshot, she would be a good tip at 25/1, still I think Galikova is going to win this, Meandre is the other longshot worth considering.

my miss storm cat 09-30-2011 12:44 PM

Have not been around but i guess posts are missing (?)...

Okay I love the idea of Galikova winning but I will stick with my girl Snow Fairy (even with Frankie up :wf) and will use Danedream cause really... she is the great unknown (but she sure looked good that last time) as well as Hiruno d'Amour who is always underrated.

The owner of Nakyama Festa die before the Arc last year. It was her dream and her dad continues to try to make it come true so just wanted to mention that cause i won't be around much and in the event he puls it off...

Good luck guys.

PPs should be here pretty soon...
