Arlington Park/ Lassie and Futurity

Two very nice fields for these baby stakes. Very high in quality and potential stars.

Lassie- Like #9 Nola Star as the key to use in the exactas in the 1st and 2nd slot. Nola Star debuted at Ellis Park from the impossible 12 hole going 5 1/2 furlongs, and as if the post wasn't hard enough she also broke poorly an of course ended up 7 wide the whole way to be beaten a neck.
Noal returned at Arlington Park about 5 weeks ago and crushed a maiden field going one mile, todays distance. She basically paired up her debut effort on the numbers and with the proper 5 weeks rest of that big one, as well owning the only winning effort in the field at todays distance, she looks very strong here. Shes shown she can rally or win on the lead.
Lots of pace in the the race with Dreaming Of Anna, Change Up, and Sea Of Joy. Change Up crsuhed return Spinaway winner Appealing Zophie in her last race at Mountaineer, but shes never been farther than 6 furlongs and could regress as her las race was crazy fast. two year old fillies are extremely prone to bounces off very fast races.
Key the 9, use the 1,5,8 underneath in exactas and tris. Then put the 9 second behind those in the 2nd slot.

Futurity-Looks like a two horse affair with Shermanesque and Street Sense.
Shermanesque was impressive at Cd and raced at the Spa last out after missing some time with a minor issue. Appeared a bit short but raced well chasing on the rail and then having to switch lanes in the stretch. Bred to stretch out, and should move forward today. Officer Rocket has been scintillating in his last two and needs to avoid a regression of his big top last time out and coming back on short rest is a no thanks for me, especially at a favored price
Street Sense is certainly bred to like the extra ground today. In his debut he was 2nd to Unbridled Express, the Bernie Flint trained colt who was third in the Hopeful this past week at the Spa after having sold 50% of the horse to a group containing chef Bobby Flay for 1.8 million. He earned a big number in his debut and then returned 2nd time out with lasix added and ran an even bigger number. Back on three weeks rest is concern but he had 5 weeks off before his last race and may be able to squeeze an effort out here, especially with the added distance and great work since then.
Key the 3,10 on top in gimmicks, use the 1,9,11 underneath in gimmicks.

Nola Star

ORACLE:

Love the pattern of a 2YO pairing up....
One of the most powerful sheet patterns and often portends a move up the next time out. NOLA STAR morning line is 8-1. Expect her to sit just off the speed and make a run....

Best of Luck...

I'll go with your info Mike and watch some football this afternoon. Bombed out with Belmont yesterday, so Arlington is worth a look.

Mike, took your advice with the selections for these two races. The longshot took us out in the Lassie, but with the late scratch of the #3 in the Futurity;
I boxed the 1-9-10-11 in the superfecta. Bam! not only a winner, but twice!
Thanks, makes up for a cold Belmont Saturday and with a good day betting on the college games on Saturday, my bankroll looks good. Again thanks...and let me know when your heading to Little Falls to see the family. Maybe we could hook up at the Fort Plain OTB for a afternoon.

Absolutely no doubt about it. I have to go and see the grandmothers and cousins and aunt and uncle sometime soon. I will definitely hook up with you there!

I had a big bet on Nola Star first-time out. How unlucky can you get? I'm getting 7-1 on her and she goes seven-wide and loses by a neck. I liked her at the Ocala March sale. She was a real bargain too. She only went for about $75,000 or so. I've gotten some bad breaks with first-timers this year. I was getting 8-1 on Point Ashley first-time out and she was a little short that day and ran 3rd. It sucks to make bets that are that good and lose them. If that race was tomorrow, Point Ashley would be 1-9 and would win by 10 lengths.
