it would be nice to add more degenerates to our sport..hehe hehe. But most have said they do not play the horses because of the takeout thats already removed from it.

For us real fans, we dont need outside "marketing" ideas to get us excited about the BC. As long as the best horses in America race in it I will just be A ok.

Not horrible, at least this guy appeals to gamblers.

It's a rare smart move by the BC's marketing suits. They've limited themselves to preaching to the choir since the event's inception. There a literally hundreds of thousands of internet poker players looking for options to bet online and the legalization of web poker in the US is closer than anyone in racing wants to admit. I don't think The Grinder would have been my first choice, but he's okay for this purpose.

It's a smart move only in comparison to all of their other marketing gimmicks.

This one might actually have some benefit.

Just not very much of one.

Why aren't they giving him $5000 and seeing what he can do over two days?

Because he's not an idiot.

Exactly.

So, what's the point of trying to convince poker players they can make money gambling on horses again? When they don't even let the championship-gambling-winning spokesperson "show how it's done", because trying to really gamble would be ... idiotic?
