This is a great deal by McDonalds. Good PR, good for health. Instead of fries or apples with carmel sugar, kids get half fries and plain apples. Oh, the horror of better nutrition and two-for-one deals! :{>: They took away choice by giving kids both! Oh, noes!

wouldn't it be more prudent and economically efficient to stop sending food stamps to the obese?

Or at a minimum requiring McDonald's to have a scale and target, the obese?

IF the people want more apples instead of fries, the article cited would reflect statistics other than "only 11% selected apples instead of fries even though 88% of them knew they had a choice." This is influenced by the first lady's personal opinion and some sort of pressure from the White House.

What will happen now is people will just order a la carte, or, if they really want that toy for their kids, they'll order a Happy Meal AND a large fries.

It wasn't that healthier choices (apple slices) were offered, they were forced. I wasn't fighting for the rights of the fat diabetic 8 year old but rather the fit healthy 8 year old.

As if assuming the obese 8 year old's parents don't have a brain.

I don't need or want a gov. babysitter. Of course I also think parent(s) should raise a child not a village and certainly not the government. But I may be in the minority?

Apples were ADDED to the fries.

Now McDonalds gives both fries and apples out in a Happy Meal.
