Well Timm, another right wing site who's agenda is clearly to demonize the Obama white house. Nevertheless, if these folks were treated unfairly, politics aside, I hope they get justice.

I saw the story about the lawsuit.....didnt qualify the site.....these people were screwed "en masse" by the leaders they supported for years.
Black mark for politics and American business

"demonizing" is a strong word considering the facts portrayed on the site.
Whatever leaders are corrupt or self-serving...that should be public knowledge, and dealt with!

what is an acceptable news source? a left leaning site? almost every single news source has some type of bias behind it.

So let me get this straight, Timm- you're upset because a bunch of employees of a privately owned company which went bankrupt due to "accounting irregularities" (according to the article), didn't get a government handout? I would think you'd feel that the fewer people getting government money the better.

Of course the union workers came out ahead- that's the whole point of being in a union. They have the power of numbers to collectively bargain so they don't get screwed as bad as people who are dumb enough to believe it when their private employer says don't worry; we'll take care of you; you can trust us.

Ditto. Look, I'm sure if Delphi has a case, they will win it. Using the Michele Malkin screech to tar the Obama administration is absurd. This lawsuit is 3 years old, btw, Timm.

Delphi has a long history in the courts of defending themselves of charges of fraud by pension funds that invested in them.

Could be a very good reason this private company wasn't "bailed out" like some of the auto makers were.

Delphi also has lawsuits for bad goods being sold.

The auto bailed worked very well, btw - paid back, companies still exist, jobs saved.

The Delphi Corporation and several former and current senior executives engaged in a series of sham sales of worthless inventory intended to improve the company's bottom line, shareholders contend in a lawsuit filed in New York.

Delphi, the auto parts maker, sold "problematic inventory" to third parties for "enormous sums of money," two state pension funds and two European funds claim in the suit. Delphi agreed to buy the material back later, while recording almost $300 million from those transactions, the complaint states.

Delphi Automotive Battery Cases

With co-counsel, Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP is prosecuting a consumer protection class action on behalf of Arizona residents who have purchased or leased a Delphi Automotive Systems automotive battery with side-mounted terminals. Delphi marketed these batteries under the trade names "Delphi Maintenance Free Battery" and "AC Delco Maintenance Free Battery." Members of the proposed class may have purchased the batteries separately at retail outlets where Delphi and AC Delco batteries are sold, or purchased or leased vehicles equipped with the batteries.

The lawsuit alleges that Delphi concealed the fact that these batteries are defectively designed, fail prematurely, and leak battery acid from the side mounted positive terminal, causing damage to battery cables and other vehicle components.

There is news, then there is opinion. Timm posted an opinion piece, not a news story.

the union didn't make out because of their collective bargaining agreement, they made out because they paid off politcians via their unions dues and said politicians crafted a special bankruptcy plan that protected the union while letting the non union employees twist in the wind. elected officials picking and choosing the winner is cronyism and it stinks.

there are courts for handling bankruptcies which are very good at deciding how to divvy up the assets of a failed company. those courts would not have been as kind to the UAW as their friends in Washington were.

Exactly right.
