Garden City G1

Man there are quite a few horses taking a big step up. Straight from allowance and minor stakes to a G1... This seems, on the surface, to be a race to make some money. I just done know how to judge Euro's. I have read some of the other posts. More opinions appreciated.

I think Magnificent Song, Chaibia (best play if she stays 12-1) & Take the Ribbon are the choice. I'm throwing May Night into my picks because she is way better in my opinion than the 30-1 morning line, race should set up welll for her and she was only about a length back from TTR in the Del Mar Oaks.

May Night had the Virginia Oaks won if not for Albarado. Lost the photo but was clearly best there. Absolutely rooting openly for Fred Seitz in this spot.. Ric Hammerle (SA/DMR racing director) joined us on ATRAB yesterday and I asked him about the Cassidy filly (#6 Maaxi Arte). Said he has total confidence in her. Certainly didn't ship on a lark having chosen to pass the DMR Oaks for this spot. Don't know if pace suits, but I'm including Maaxi Arte (#6) with the #1, #2, #7 and #5... A terrific race.. The Shug filly intrigues.. Goldberg too.. Just a great mysterious group...

I totally agree and love these sort of races. :)

"The most important thing in racing is THE GROUND." So say the lads at the sportinglife audio feed. Chaibia's best races have been on heavy and soft ground and/or longer distances. She is likely to find the pace and distance a bit too sharp for her here, IMHO. La Mottie is a lower level racer than Chaibia and has never run left-handed; but I'll admit that run against Red Evie (winner of a G1 filly/mare race in Ireland this morning) on gd/fm is a positive. May Night has been beaten repeatedly by Magnificent Song, and at the distance by Take the Ribbon (who also ran by Maxxe Arte in her maiden win).

I'm the Regret S and American Oaks as the best 3yo filly turf races this year. Wait A While is top of the class; Arravale's win in the Del Mar Oaks franks the form (she was 3rd in Am Oaks) so second in that race of Take the Ribbon looks good. Lady of Venice came out of her Regret win to run well with the best 9f older mares, and second-place Magnificent Song came back to win a G3 at Sar.

Another tiresome cutting and pasting of useless minutiae ... without adding a shred of new information or insight.

Why do you keep wasting Steve's server like this, honeybun?

Oh, so I'm just supposed to say "I don't like Chaibia in this spot" and not explain why? Sorry, I feel like it is an obligation to give one's reasoning for such statements so that others can point out what they feel are the flaws in it.

her comments were 100% correct. the most important factor in turf racing is the ground. your posts are pretty annoying. leave the other people alone unless you have something constructive to say.
