62% Federal Tax rate??!!

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...ws_BlogsModule

So what are the libtards going to do when the "rich" contract their investment positions and people are put out of work by the tens of thousands?

dagolfer33 06-02-2011 10:56 AM

This doesn't directly affect me.

dellinger63 06-02-2011 11:04 AM

The 62% rate is a State/Fed combined number. However numurous other taxes were left off, namely property, sales, utilities, cell phone, land line, internet, gas, airport, car registration, tolls, hotel, gambling winnings etc etc etc.

But come on now Pakistan and Egypt deserve our money. And AIG and GM were too big to fail. The USPO and Fannie and Freddie are like our children so they need to be taken care of. It all makes perfect sense now. :wf

But, I'll bet you're employed by someone who does.

Can't help but feel there is going to be even more unemployment if such a ridiculous tax increase goes through.

Where is the incentive for businessmen to grow their businesses?

In the future, the Klingons become our friends, the rich will never be friends of the poor.

Timm, unfortunately I've seen the results of trusting rich folks throughout my life. Not saying all are evil, but the ideology that trusting windfalls given to rich folks will benefit us all simply isn't true.

The rich need to have an incentive to release their hard-earned gains! Its harder to keep it than it is to gain it...or so I'm told(ahem)

As unrealistic as I know it sounds, it would be a better world if that incentive was based on love of mankind rather than love of riches. May never happen but feeding the rich is not the answer.

Unfortunately, "trickle-down economics" didn't work with Reagan, and hasn't worked since.

You are correct, this would be the definition of an INDIRECT affect. Let's face it. The GOVT, no matter which party is in charge, is always trying to stick a vacuum cleaner hose in my pockets. Riot and dell may disagree with this statement.

I own my own small business. I pay lots of taxes, and purchase equipment and stock and inventory, and pay people to work for me. I agree.

The difference lays in what we feel is justified to pay, or not ;)
