Sumitas, I suspect not much more than her claiming price.
Lots of sharp guys are sifting through the sand for nuggets.
My guess is that shes infertile.

Ora a question on this subject. A fillie or mare running past 4, is she infertile because of the racing or is she racing because shes infertile?

A few years back a guy I used to work for saw a mare running at the Finger lakes in a claiming race. She had a great female family and he claimed her to be a broodmare. Only one problem, she didn't have any ovaries when they checked her out. he thought that the "hayseed" at the Finger lakes didn't realize this. Oh, he realized it, and they were hoping to get her claimed.
People generally aren't real dumb.
My guess is that unless Sumitas has found the dumbest guy alive, that he knows exactly who shes a 3/4 sister to, and that if she could be bred that she wouldn't be in for a cheap tag.

If you're thinking of buying her outright and not off the claim a simple breeding soundness exam will at least let you know if she's got all her parts...

Infertility could be the issue, or how about just another biig physical fault? Did you get a look at her or just see the pps?

Ochoco and Tribunal stand in the Pacific Northwest

just the pps. she has won. she is young. i found another mare too who has won over $100k. she's closely related to a millionaire retired filly by the same bottom line.

sumitas 09-07-2006 12:16 PM

then i know of a 3rd one. won early in her career, then was injured. coming around now winning in low level claimers. gorgeous pedigree top to bottom. all 3 have superior pedigrees.

oracle i have pmd you the name of the 3/4 filly to a standing sire in Ky. hope you like her and hope your clients do to.
