Derby winners not posting work at Churchill

I've been trying to research but have come up empty. Anyone have any stats on Derby
winners in recent times not posting an official work at Churchill?

Funny Cide was one. Like Toby's Corner, he shipped in on Tuesday of Derby Week.

I'll ask Haskin later. He'll certainly remember.

Didn't Barbaro work at Fair Hill?

Might have, but I know he did get at least one work in at Churchill...and it got a bunch of people all over him.

Barbaro had perhaps the greatest pre-Derby Churchill workout ever according to those who have seen them over the years..

I believe he worked a really strong half in like 47.
He looked like a freight train.

Welsch couldn't stop gushing about it.
Mike Wesch also raved about Street Sense and Rachel Alexandra going into the Oaks/ Derby also.

What did you get if you bet $2 to win on each of those?

I mean besides a bag of chalk.

Are you effing serious?

I had the Pick 4 several times to a singled Barbaro....Check that payoff!

I also made a nice score on Street Sense... nice win bet and exacta.

When did 6/1 and 9/2 become chalk? :wf

When they have a little asterisk by their odds in the result chart.

I wasn't asking what you personally put or won on those horses, by the way.

My point was that how many bettors needed to be "won over" to these horses because of a workout? They were already the top contenders going in.

Barbaro didn't have the asterisk....he wasn't the favorite.

I know. He was second choice at 6.1 to the 5.5-1 favorite. But you get the point I was trying to make anyways, right?

There are plenty of chalks who have underperformed in the Derby. It's always a concern. I don't think confirming the playability of a favorite or second choice because of a super workout is something to be dismissed.
