Oh boy.

The New York Racing Association has announced that beginning March 29, it will be conducting an online “Get to Know Mo” contest. The contest winner will have the opportunity to spend time with Mike Repole’s undefeated champion Uncle Mo, five-time Eclipse winning trainer Todd Pletcher, and jockey John Velazquez on Thursday, April 7 at Belmont Park.

The current favorite for the May 7 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), Uncle Mo is also overwhelming favorite in the $1 million Resorts World New York Casino Wood Memorial (gr. I) at Aqueduct Racetrack on Saturday, April 9. The link to enter the contest will be active on the afternoon of March 29 and located at the "Get to Know Mo" contest link. The winner’s visit will will occur at approximately 9:30 a.m. and will also include a special breakfast at the barn.

The Indomitable DrugS 03-28-2011 04:35 PM

I'm entering Freddy.

DaTruth 03-28-2011 04:41 PM

Wow. A special breakfast at the barn. No expense has been spared.

Will this elaborate marketing campaign cause another increase in takeout?

randallscott35 03-28-2011 04:53 PM

Do you get a case of Vitamin Water on your way out?

randallscott35 03-28-2011 04:54 PM

Does this Uncle Mo campaign have to have Met colors?

randallscott35 03-28-2011 04:55 PM

I would enter if I could meet Norman Asbjornson

Alan07 03-28-2011 05:09 PM

He also has his own Web site: http://www.unclemo.com/

They're going to have a "meet and greet" with Uncle Mo 2 days before he's supposed to compete in the Wood Memorial?

I guess if he tests positive post-race Pletcher will have a better excuse than Uncle Mo breathing in aerosolized local anesthetic from the horse in an adjacent stall (see his Tales Of Glory controversy).

Hope they do a background check on the lucky contest winner.

Uncle Mo wasn't on his spelling game in his latest facebook post.....

I think it is funny that people assume a horse couldn't spell. I mean, he figured out posting and such, why think of he would be unable to spell.

Probably just a typing issue, certainly must be difficult.

I don't get it. What moron decided it would be a good idea to personify Uncle Mo with the dim witted, drool-spewing, booger-eating mental capacity of a 5 year old kid?

If they had any fucl<ing sense they would have fashioned his "words" after the great WWF wrestler The Ultimate Warrior, who took pre-event trash talking to new heights, both literally and pharmacologically, back in the early '90s.

Yeah, that's true!

Besides, his sire is the smartest horse ever.
