French jets protecting Libyan rebels

French jets were seen defending rebel positions, reports of at least one government jet shot down, the no fly element of international response has begun. I find it very significant that the French are the first to have jets in the sky over Libya. Italian government (the biggest purchaser of Libyan oil) has provided bases for UN planes. It looks like an actual international effort!

American cruise missiles launched against government anti-aircraft locations, French jets destroy government tank, said to be firing on other ground forces.

British jets have now joined in the attack.

Coach Pants 03-19-2011 08:55 PM

My family has joined in the attack. We're attacking the Libyan army with our minds.

Was hopeful that we could have "Democratic" Muslims help Muslims that want Democracy. Turkey should of done that. It was totally in line with that leader's rhetoric about Egypt etc., but this article points out why he's being a hypocrite (it's $$) in this situation.

This is the same guy that offered to do this (what we're having to now do) if the E.U. would let Turkey in as a full member. For Gaza Muslims, he cares deeply. For people fighting for Democracy in Libya? He would of let Qaddafi slaughter them.

Trying to strike a personal note, Gaddafi prefaced his letter saying, “To our son, his excellency, Mr Barack Hussein Obama. I have said to you before, that even if Libya and the United States of America enter into a war, god forbid, you will always remain a son. Your picture will not be changed.”

"Barack - I'm your father"

It amazes me that some folks will (a) believe anything that caters to their prejudices and (b) beat a dead issue into the ground.
