Yeah right.....he looked fabulous in early December and ended up with a 9 seed in the Bloated East. Hey I am happy for my Huskies. Hopefully they win tonight.

The talent level is way off. Sure they struggled for part of the season but you have to admit that they have been a solid group in a tournament atmosphere.

My mind may be changed about COY if UConn pulls off the seemingly impossible....winning five games in 5 days beating a 16, 8, 1, 2 and 4 seed. When the hell are the Huskies going to run out of gas? They have to be tired

Coach Pants 03-12-2011 06:25 AM

They have an excellent shot of winning. Louisville worked extremely hard for that win last night.

Slewbopper 03-13-2011 08:28 AM

Congrats to Jim. Truly a remarkable 5 day run.

Slewbopper 03-25-2011 02:23 PM

Huskies are rolling. 11 Bloated East teams and only #3 UConn and #11 Marquette remain. Give Jim COY

Coach Pants 03-27-2011 09:29 PM

Just one more victory. Come on.

coach...you do realize he has actually been caught cheating, right?

slotdirt 03-28-2011 08:25 AM

Then he should do quite well against fellow cheater Coach Cal this weekend.

OK so he was caught, but honestly do you think he's the only one who's cheating?

no. Cheating has become the American way to get ahead. I was just laughing at the hypocricy of coach's statement, because he would never tout Cal for this because of perception, even though he is actually clean in the eyes of the NCAA.

Well that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. I honestly think that cheating in college is rampant (as far as payoffs and recruiting violations go). I have no inside knowledge or information, but that's just my opinion.

College sports to me is about mostly nothing more than money. Unfortunately the problem is the NCAA (who oversees it all while making the rules ;) ), and I view them to be one of the most crooked organizations on the face of the earth.

slotdirt 03-28-2011 10:43 AM

Just because Cal is clean in the eyes of the NCAA doesn't mean he's clean. Marcus Camby and Derrick Rose would tell you otherwise.

Hell, Cam Newton and his dad are clean in the eyes of the NCAA. I'm not sure that's company I'd exactly want to keep.

rpncaine 03-28-2011 11:08 AM

How do you explain Butler being in back-to-back final fours? Their facilities suck and I can't imagine that Steven's is cheating.

Coach Pants 03-28-2011 12:14 PM

All punishments/infractions are not the same. And we're talking about one black eye instead of two.

Plus UCONN won't have to vacate one, much less, two seasons.

Good luck Otis. The previous two teams that made the final four with Coach Cal got humiliated and were forced to vacate both tournament runs. For your sake, and the millions of annoying UK fans, I hope that doesn't repeat itself.

He has cheated at Kentucky? What did he do?

slotdirt 03-28-2011 04:17 PM

So since he's not been caught at UK, Cal's not a cheater? That's some logic right there. Fandom will do strange things to a person's sense of reason.

OldDog 03-28-2011 04:24 PM

I thought comparisons were being made between coaches at their current programs. How silly of me.
