I think he'll come back in the Tampa Derby on five days rest.

Hey, at least he spelled his name right.

pucknut 03-06-2011 11:08 AM

thanks you guys are full of insight
or maybe i spelled insight wrong

Zito is actually going to be a sport and not scratch this race down to four from the looks of it.

Dialed In should get tested by his stablemate if the race unfolds like it figures to on paper.

Coach Pants 03-06-2011 11:40 AM

I thought zito was suspended and the assistant trainer frazier was filling in?

either way you can't go wrong.

You pegged it. He looked done in even with the final surge.

Not that Equestero tried to give it away as best he could late

I thought his effort was fine. Considering how likely it is that he's going to have a quick pace to run into when it counts, he's going to be very tough.

tjfla 03-06-2011 01:42 PM

On the brightside maybe his odds just went up a little bit for the FL Derby

The Indomitable DrugS 03-06-2011 01:50 PM

He ran well enough that his performance shows he would have been very tough to beat in the Tampa Derby.

The horse who beat him today is nothing special - but he's run back-to-back mid 90's figures without real easy trips ... and today it was a certainty that he was going to get a dream trip - controlling a slow pace from the outside of a hopeless quitter.

Surprised that exacta paid 6/1. Outside of the two Zito's - everyone else looked hopeless.

Yeah, the exacta was insanely high. First of all, the winner should have paid less than $8, but given that he did, the exacta should have been, at most, 10% higher than his win price, at least mathematically.

Best value in the game....heavy favorite second to a medium priced horse.

pucknut 03-06-2011 02:27 PM

excellent read

somerfrost 03-06-2011 03:32 PM

Still, slow pace aside, this was an Optional Alw race and a solid Derby contender at this stage should have easily handled this field. Best case..Dialed In goes into the Derby with only four races...pass!

So if he goes to the Derby with four races including a win today that means you don't pass?

Paul

Probably still would pass but this didn't help.

dalakhani 03-06-2011 08:37 PM

Is it just me or does this horse look highly suspect going two turns?

randallscott35 03-06-2011 08:39 PM

He needed to dial 9 first today.
