Classy move by Mucho Macho Man's owner

Dean Reeves, principal owner of Kentucky Derby hopeful Mucho Macho Man, presented injured jockey Eibar Coa a check for $18,000 Thursday night at Memorial East Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Fla. The sum is the equivalent to the winning rider’s share for Mucho Macho Man’s recent victory in the Grade 2 Risen Star at the Fair Grounds....

Presenting Coa with the $18,000 check was not the first magnanimous gesture by Reeves, who donated 80 mattresses to the grooms and hotwalkers whose rooms were destroyed when a section of the Gulfstream Park barn area was flooded in December of 2009.

Good for him. I hope he sells the horse for a pile!

Very nice gesture to what seems like a really good guy. It's a shame that positive stories from the sport don't get enough press. Also it's great to hear that Coa is doing better and making strides in the right direction.

Coa just punched his wife. No thanks on giving him a check. Just sayin

WTF does this have to do with an owner taking 18k out of his pocket and hooking up a guy and his family. Dude unless you are drinking or fn around its like a banable post. Everybody knows the guy had domestic issues and frankly they are repulsive but delete the post ASAP.

Screw you. I'm glad he donated mattresses, I'm just saying I'm not helping out a wife beater, sorry that offends you.

Reeves's kind gesture is also helping out Coa's family which I'm sure is going through some tough times.

I'm all for that...for the family...Since my aunt lived next to a battered womens clinic I don't look too kindly on the people who are violent towards women. Freddy would rather look the other way. SO be it.

I don't think Coa's wife has to worry about any more smacking arounds being that he's in the condition he's in.

That was a very kindly thing that Mr. Reeves did.

Nice Exacta today, Freddy HoMo:

You apologize for Dutrow and gloss over the fact that Coa thought he was Pacquiao. Solid work.

Apologize for Dutrow? Hardly you troll. Dutrow a huge cheat and a good one. Virtually everyone who knows Dutrow likes him and everyone I know recognizes his talent. I wish he would clean up his act but even though "worm" could play cards he was always going to look for an edge!
