With the world fast approaching critical mass regarding number of humans compared to available food, and climate change accelerating that - first world countries not getting married and having kids immediately doesn't seem like such a bad thing to me. Sociologically, the impact upon society? Yeah, more instability, less communal unity, agree with that.
