Labor Day Plays

Closing day at Saratoga and the weather looks like it will stay away again. We don't see any value in the Hopeful, although it's a must watch. Let's try and catch the Trifecta in the G3 Glen Falls and G1 Del Mar Debutante.

Saratoga - Race 9 - Glen Falls G3

#1 Louve Royal (Ire) - 10 in a row ITM and should get a nice ground saving trip from the inside post.

#3 Noble Stella (Ger) - Speed and consistency her best atributes.
#4 Shared Dreams (GB) - Nice win in the Waya earlier in the meet.
#5 Olaya - Never worst than 2nd in her 5 starts in the U.S.
#7 Latice (Ire) - Sheppard ships in and she has placed twice in graded events.
#8 Sabellina - Trouble trip in her last, but she must step it up here.

The Play - 2 units Tri Key 1 over 3 4 5 7 8 and then a 1 unit Tri P/W 3 4 5 7 8 with 1 with 3 4 5 7 8 = 60 units

Del Mar - Race 8 - Del Mar Debutante G1

#4 Jump On In - Simply awesome in her debut for Sadler.

#3 Point Ashley - Blinks off for Baffert, should enjoy going 7/8ths.
#7 Untouched Talent - The name fits, gutsy daughter of Storm Cat.
#8 She's Included - Solis and Paasch have won 4 out of 7 starts at the meet.

The Play - 5 units Tri Key 4 over 3 7 8 = 30 units

Total played 90 units and the comes into the day down 203 units.

Happy Labor Day

Good Racing Luck

It's been that kind of holiday weekend. I mentioned #1 Louve Royal has 10 straight ITM finishes and I just use her for 1st and 2nd.

Congrats to Passport (By Pulpit) and the Clairborne connections (Frank Brothers) for his victory in the Cradle Stakes going 1 1/16 at River Downs. Also, Izzie's Halo (By Halo's Image) ran a nice race for Amoss and both appear headed in the right direction.

10 MTP and Baffert's filly Point Ashley is currently at 7-5 and Jump On In is 2-1. Somebody must know something.

I just played a little extra on Jump On In. I'll take my chances with this impressive filly. For those of you that like to play late money, this is a perfect example. Jump On In looks great on the track.

Congrats to the Baffert Posse because Point Ashley was superb. She's definitely the leading contender for the Breeders' Cup filly race. That was very impressive.

Also, I almost forgot to sends some congrats towards Victor Espinoza with his 7 wins on the Del Mar Card. Red hot is an understatement.

Hoss, LOL. I know exactly what you mean. I don't understand why so-called horse racing fans always want to bash a top performance.

Bogey, I have never figured that one out either, and it makes no sense to me.
The even crazier thing is that about 30 seconds after the race is over they will start saying that he or she will lose the next one!!!! Then they keep saying it until the horse eventually loses, like they all do. Its about the most pointless thing that I can think of to say.

Oracle, They figure that eventually the horse will lose. Hell, Secretriat lost. I guess it's just the world we live in today. They really don't appreciate the sport IMO.

For example, Watchmaker (who's a buffoon) always stated that LITF didn't deserve all the praise. The horse travelled from coast to coast and beat everyone he faced. 2005 sprint champion. Go Figure.

Don't understand it either. These people just don't know how hard it is even to get a horse to the track.....

Once at the track the majority of them run their hearts out for you regardless of their ability. The truly great ones are never appreciated by so many fans.... CQ is an exceptional horse. How can anyone bash him. LITF, a Bay Area hero ran as hard as he could every time out. Does it take a life threatening illness for people to finally come around?

Anyway, as The Bald Eagle once said, never knock a horse until he is dead...

Lets appreciate these beautiful animals for what they are and understand that everyone has a bad day from time to time....
