'Last Train from Bay Meadows' (Link to DVD order form)

Documentary, filmed in waning months before closing of the Ess Eff institution, debuts Thursday night at the legendary Fox Theater. Film maker Jon Rubin will join me Thursday at 11:30a to discus the project. Filmed more than 100 hours of footage that showcases every inch of the San Mateo oval, tells its' story and that of its' racetracker family. DVD's will be available very soon after the film's one-night-only premiere.

I always thought it was the Fox in Atlanta that was considered " legendary. "

That is a legendary one in Atlanta. The Fox in SF was famous as a vaudeville house.

Trailer looked good. I'll definitely be getting a DVD, just like I did for "First Saturday in May" and "Lost in the Fog"

I was on that last train from Bay Meadows, very sad day. I will wait for the DVD, seeing it in a theatre will make me cry.

Wow I'll bet. I was getting depressed just watching the trailer and I've never been there.

Looks nicely done.

I had no intention of ordering it but I think I will now.

Sorry for going off topic but how's Nopie?

Nopie

He's doing very well, all healed up and just as playful as ever. He's a smart horse. We're starting discussions with Sharla at the Second Race to see about finding him a "forever" home, since there really is no reason for him to stay at GEVA now that he's all healed up. He can be retrained and ridden (just not jumped). He's also good with kids, so he'd make somebody a good pleasure horse. We'd keep him, but it's kind of hard to do in the Bay Area unless you own significant land. :)

I'm glad to hear that. :)
