C.C. just won the 2nd race. Let's hope he has a hot day.

C'mon, Zinger - you can do it.

richard 02-16-2011 12:52 PM

Best of luck. Freud will be tough.

Yeah, Freddy true, but she had no interest today. None. She's a very confusing filly to deal with. Has put weight back on.. has been acting great.. ran much improved race last time showing her speed, and then today doesn't run a step. Will get specifics from CC and Gary in a bit...

freddymo 02-16-2011 01:11 PM

I hoped for better. She had a promising start to her career.

Princess Doreen 02-16-2011 01:28 PM

"I don't wanna, and you can't make me." Hope it's something that can be corrected. Sad to watch.

Just off with Gary who was none too pleased with Chucky. Lopez told him that when he didn't make the lead he decided to 'save her'. Never asked her to run. LOL. You can't make it up with these guys. The good news is that she scoped clean and didn't cut herself.

Nice soft spot 3/12 at Penn 22k purse going 5.5f she will get the lead and romp. Easy 10k

Ever think of trying poly? Sometimes they wake up big time.

She's bred for grass on the dam side and as has been discussed, will be on the agenda come spring.

I would never question how these horses are managed but she seems to me to be in over her head. Even her best effort wasn't beating this field today. She may just need a drop into the claiming ranks to get her confidence back.

Thanks again to Steve, Chuck, and Gary. Even bad days like this are still exciting as an "owner"...

Never forget her win in Saratoga. Made some good money that day. Love to see her at the Spa again on the Grass this year.

When the racing office starts putting on the appropriate state-bred conditional claiming races ($25k/N2L) later in the winter/early spring, she'll likely run in them. They aren't running them yet so it's hard to place her in anything other than these ALW's. She earned $2,000+ in the two previous starts, and it helps. And as a reminder, she was beaten 3.5 lengths for 2nd-4th in this same race 4 weeks ago. Lopez chose not to ride her at all today for reasons known only to him.

I love folks who say "I would Never" and then proceed to do it in the same sentence. Sorry it just is a pet peeve.

Steve, I love the radio show and follow the posts here...

I'm not an owner with you, but I root hard for your horses.

However, to blame a veteran respected jockey for a 40-1 shot coming in last in the way that you did was a bit unfair.

Did he explain himself poorly, or did something get lost in translation, perhaps either of both of those is possible -- but to put the performance of the horse primarily on C.C. was not up to your usual high level of class.

Again, excuse me if this is none of my business.
