Beyer and Tampa
Many positives about the track and the racing and finally, towards the end of the article, he comes down HARD on Grunder. One could only hope that management would take note and make a change. This guy is the worst, closely followed by Battaglia and Terry Wallace.

The man is an INSTITUTION in Tampa, although if one only listened to his calls without watching the race, said person would probably need to be institutionalized after trying to figure out who actually won and where the winner came from, but that's beside the point:zz:

I think Sheets should take that photo every year. It could be his own personalized Grunder Growth Chart.

Grunder is Tom Durkin compared to Terry Wallace. He might mis-pronounce names all the time but at least he gives you a good general idea what's going on. Wallace is absolutely dreadful. He botches names, calls the wrong horses, has giant pauses in his calls, it's just embarassing at times.
The promo for Ferdinand on HRTV this Sunday night included a little snippet from his owner where she discusses how the announcer didn't even call him until the eighth pole. Who was on the mike that afternoon? Battaglia... |
