Indian Charlie filly tops Fasig-Tipton sale at $245K
By Glenye Cain Oakford

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A $245,000 Indian Charlie filly who is closely related to two-time champion Indian Blessing topped Fasig-Tipton Kentucky's winter mixed sale here. SF Bloodstock purchased the dark bay or brown yearling from the Gainesway agency. The filly is out of the stakes-placed Matchlite mare Lady's Legacy, the second dam of Indian Blessing. Indian Blessing, also by Indian Charlie, was 2007's champion juvenile filly and 2008's champion female sprinter. The session-leading filly sold as Hip No. 76.

RESULTS

Tuesday's one-day auction sold 183 horses for $2,821,500, down 7 percent from last year's total for 192 horses. The average price held almost level with last year, falling slightly from $15,899 in 2010 to $15,418 this year. But the median jumped 14 percent, from $5,000 to $5,700 this year. Buy-backs were 23 percent, as compared with 29 percent in 2010.

I see Stallions listed. They sell "NO GUARANTEE SEASON"

not familiar with many of the terms. I thought you booked your mare with the stallion and paid a fee if it resulted in a live foal.

Also noticed there were (PS) Private Sales outside the auction. Do they still have to pay commission?

You can do all sorts of things with seasons. You can buy guaranteed, stands and nurses seasons all the way to non-guaranteed late breeding calendar covers for an extreme discount.

These seasons just happen to be non-guaranteed.
