Yes.

I thought Blame would have won up until last night.

Now? I don't think it would have made any difference what he won by.

Good or bad she would have won last night regardless.

iamthelurker 01-18-2011 07:22 PM

Who wins this HOTY battle,

(yeah i know most of you will know these two but if you dont know it off the top of your head dont go look it up until you decide)

Horse A: Won Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), Stephen Foster H. (G2), Whitney H. (G1), Hawthorne Gold Cup (G3), Saratoga Breeders' Cup H. (G2)

Horse B: Won Hollywood Gold Cup (G1), Pimlico Special (G1), Woodward S (G1), Gulfstream Park H, Donn H, Iselin H, Mass. H; 3rd Jockey Club Gold Cup, OTB Classic.

Which one can dance?

iamthelurker 01-18-2011 07:34 PM

Neither, go watch dressage if thats what your looking for.

LARHAGE 01-18-2011 07:38 PM

Don't you understand thats the determining factor? Where have you been?

iamthelurker 01-18-2011 07:40 PM

Yes paddock dancing won it for Zenyatta, hilarious.

Hilarious? It's much more plausible than the idea that they gave it to her for her on-track accomplishments.

Let's be serious, they gave it to her for 'intangibles' and supposedly 'creating fans', so it sure as hell isn't far off to say that her dancing was part of the reason she won.

We all know why she won, and we all know who should of won, I got the joke I just didn't think it was funny.

Old timers used to say 1 lb = 1 length. That means she lost by 3.....

Yes, that's the sad thing. Just winning the race wasn't good enough for Blame........Zenyatta gets rewarded because she "courageously" overcame a bad pace scenario (nevermind that it's her flaw). Why Blame should be penalized for having more speed is beyond me. These voters were bound and determined to gift wrap a HOY for her because it would be looked at as a darn shame if she never got one. What an amazing example of a sympathy vote- they felt sorry for Zenyatta because she didn't end up undefeated.

its over, thankfully we have the derby preps to look forward to.

Blame was penalized for losing to Haynesfield. Too bad he didn't have some SoCal allowance fillies to practice against that day.

Exactly. Based on their head-to-head record there's a lot of doubt who was the better of the two.

Glad to see Z's owners got rewarded for their chicken sh*t campaign last year.
what a joke.

Does it really matter who you beat? Or is how you do it more important? Last year beating Macho Uno and Bullsbay sealed the deal so I don't buy the former. Blame squeaked out wins over Battle Plan, Quality Road and Zenyatta in what most will call a conservative campaign. Surely that didn't enhance his credentials, as I stated I thought he did enough with his win in the Classic, but again he wasn't the best by a landslide, not by a longshot.
