Mountaineer - the glory days have come and gone

In their prime - the betting cards were fantastic and the racing was as interesting as it possibly gets for the level.

Now the opposite is becoming more and more true all the time.

However, there is at least one very interesting race today ... in todays 6th race - look for bridge jumping to possibly occur on two different horses in the same race.

Wow, maybe the 2 chalks will kill each other and the first time starter will pick up the pieces at a price late.

You could swap out the name "Mountaineer" for a lot of other tracks, too....

True enough - but Mountaineer already has slots, vegas style table games, and knowing what goes on at those two strip clubs a half mile up the road - they have prostitution as well.

I don't really see anything that can possibly stop the decline.

Here is a 3/5 morning line favorite in a $17,000 MSW race on Sunday at Mountaineer.

Because this steller Michigan invader was able to make the lead going 24.60 and 50 flat - she fought the whole way last time out in a mile in 1:44 flat and now all of a sudden she's odds-on on the ML.

Considering that she got beat 28 lengths in a 15K MCL while posting her 3rd straight 0 figure ... how bad do you think that field had to be last time for her to go off at 8/1?

Workouts at Pinnacle

Habersham000 12-10-2010 07:31 PM

Pinnacle is now closed for training so either this horse is training now at Mountaineer or at a farm....I actually think Pinnacle is closed for simulcasting even because of money problems.

Comical, she hung like a rat and finished second at 3/5 to the second choice (#8).

Yep. Though the 7/5 shot winner did have a nice edge on figure edge over the 3/5 second place.

If they had quinella betting on that one like they have at most dog tracks - I think the quinella would have paid $2.40 tops

They will both pay $2.20 to show because of the laws in Wva.
