Steroids in Boston??????

Ortiz has heart problems and now Lester is being tested for cancer because of a lump on his back. Both of these things are side effects of steroid use. Also, Ortiz went from hitting 20 HR's with Minnesota to over 40 with Boston. Plus he has added 25 + pounds as well. Not saying that they did use them, just saying that something doesnt seem right.

I have no idea, but in general, when somebody gets perfect wood on almost everything they swing at,I think it is suspicious. These drugs improve the eyesite in a huge way. It is not just about muscle mass. It's about seeing the ball very, very well. So,I have no idea if anybody on Boston is using, but anybody who makes perfect contact(as Bonds did when he was taking them) almost all the time is suspicious to me.Like how about the whole Athletic lineup in the 2nd portion of this season? Maybe nobody is hitting above .300,but they square the ball up pretty well(not just a few of them, but most all of them seem to see the ball much better than other teams.)

Maybe they eat a lot of CARROTS! I'm 99.7% sure that no drug(especially steriods) can give you the eye-hand coordination needed to pound the ball like Papi and Bonds!

Nobody said that, but I think if you look at Barry before and after the roids(and/or hgh,)you will see that he squared the ball up much, much better on the meds. They just seem to make more solid contact. They "miss their pitch" a lot less than guys who don't use. That is not about strength.

True...its not about strength directly. But...strength is tied to bat speed. Steroids would theoretically help a player increase bat speed. Increased bat speed helps a player to wait that much longer. They dont have to "see it" as well as the non-juiced player because they can generate equal or better bat speed and get around quicker.

As for Papi, he will be in the lineup saturday as they have found that the problems were in his pectoral muscles and not his heart.

After starting on HGH (Human Growth Hormone) one typically experiences the following effects:

month 2-Better eyesight, including night vision

month 6-Eyesight greatly improved

I don't care how fast you swing the bat.If you don't put it on the ball exactly right, you are going to pop it up(fly ball or foul ball,)or come over the top of it(ground ball,or foul.)I don't think the steroids are used for vision, but I know that one of the reasons baseball players used Human Growth Hormone was due to the fact they could see the ball much better. It's cheating.Like I said.I wouldn't be surprised if the whole A's team was taking HGH.As a team,I feel they simply see the ball at the plate better than most teams. That's just my own opinion after watching that team. They don't draw attention because their 1st half batting average was low enough that their yearly batting average etc. doesn't raise eyebrows.I think if you look at their output in the 2nd half(as compared to the 1st half)you would see the change.

Interesting points. I never knew about the eyesight thing.

I heard somebody talking about it one time, and they said on the HGH they see the rotation of the strings really well. That guy the Diamondbacks got rid of was 1st using steroids, and then they caught him getting HGH delivered to his house. They don't have a test for HGH.That's why I am saying that the A's are all making good contact, and it may have to do with the arrival of Bradley,Thomas, and Payton. One of them could have introduced the other players to HGH this spring, and around the break you can start to see the results. They are not allowed to use it,but how can they stop them if they can't test for it?They only test urine, and I think they ONLY have a way to detect HGH IN BLOOD(DON'T KNOW HOW.)

"Grimsley was confronted by Internal Revenue Service agents on April 19 at his home in nearby Scottsdale. According to the affidavit, the 39-year-old Grimsley received a package containing two kits of human growth hormone (HGH) worth $1,600 each via the U.S. Postal Service. The IRS had been awaiting delivery of the shipment of the substance and Grimsley surrendered the kits when presented with a search warrant on that date. HGH is illegal to use under Major League Baseball's current drug policy, but there is not an effective test -- either urine or blood -- to prove a player is using it. "

.."while there is a blood test for HGH, '... because antibodies necessary for the process are in such short supply, virtually no HGH testing is conducted. In addition, the test only detects HGH right after injection so it's impractical for in-competition testing. As a result, there never has been an HGH positive.'"

he hehe he said wood

SCUDSBROTHER 09-01-2006 01:09 PM

So,now when you see Giambi get 100% bat on the ball, you know a probable reason how that is happening(while not taking roids.)

Buffymommy 09-01-2006 03:07 PM

I thought the roids were in Miami?
