Snow Fairy or Frankel

Given the choice between the 2, I'm more excited about Snow Fairy. She looks every bit to be a special horse, a Japan Cup or Hong Kong is not out of the question, the skies the limit for this filly.

my miss storm cat 11-14-2010 11:16 AM

Snow Fairy for me. :)

clyde 11-14-2010 01:05 PM

I have no comment.

Snow Fairy or Frankel..... hmmmmmmm, a filly who has run against the weakest crop of fillies I have seen in my lifetime and then goes and wins an equally weak race in Japan...... or a freak of a colt who has destroyed everything he has come up against so far including Gr1 winners and placegetters with the form working out very strongly.

Frankel would p!$$ all over Snow Fairy

I'm going to be contrarian on this, I think Snow Fairy will have a very big 2011. Agreed that Frankel is a freaky 2 yr old, I'm going to wait and see how he does as a 3 yr old before weighing in, I'm not going to hand him anything yet.

clyde 11-15-2010 01:50 PM

A contrarian!!!???

eauxh!!!!

A contrarian and a feminist. How else do you explain it?

clyde 11-15-2010 03:55 PM

I am confused...but that's what contrarian and Snow Fairy in the same thread help set up.

If Nose Drops somes back,now------that's it for me.

LOL Nose Drops? Scary thing is I get you.

clyde 11-16-2010 06:33 PM

Revelation is always scary..I do know what you mean.

Gallant---now that would be scary.

In that she was jealous of Gooey...and I had to hear about it.

clyde 11-17-2010 01:20 PM

Where is Tommy Snow Shoes?

Did he run off with SnowFairy?

Id pretty much agree with this, the fillies were pretty poor this year, Snow Fairy has looked much the best, but I am hoping Frankel turns into the superstar he has been hyped up to be.

It will be interesting to see if Snow Fairy can improve next year - she will need to.. Take her loss to Midday during the summer for example. Midday is a quality horse but in the grand scheme of things no superstar, she wouldnt get close to Ouija Board, so to elevate SF, you would have to excuse that run, and I didnt see too many things wrong with it (I will excuse her run in the St Leger though!!)

True Brock, Midday did beat Snow Fairy this summer, it was a pretty handy win but I thought Snow Fairy ran well in that race. I think if they were to meet again, the margin would be closer if not reversed. It's a projection of mine, a weakness of mine... if Snow Fairy continues progressing as a 4 yr old next year and shows the ability she showed in the QEII, she will be a very exciting filly in 2011. On Frankel, what have you heard from him, the only negative that I have read is Luca Cumani made mention he is not sure his best trip will extend to the 2400...

brockguy 01-09-2011 03:40 PM

She's certainly an interesting horse now after her HK win - that was scintillating as I was very very sure that she wouldnt have the outright pace to beat a top class field over 10f - well done to her and I hope connections have a lot of success with her next year. A Dubai World Cup campaign would be very interesting..

I am very much looking forward to Snow Fairy returning on June 25 in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh, she is pencilled in to start her year here.

my miss storm cat 06-14-2011 08:12 PM

Can't wait.

Oh and for the record I still think she'd eat him for lunch. :D

How about you, CSC?

CSC 07-30-2011 09:04 AM

5 mins to the Gr.1 Goodwood:

Snow Fairy 5/2
Midday 11/8

Expecting Snow Fairy to run her true race on her preferred ground, will know in a few minutes.

CSC 07-30-2011 09:18 AM

Midday defeats Snow Fairy in the Nassau stakes.

_ed_ 07-30-2011 09:19 AM

Very good performance by Midday, and that's the third year in a row she's won the G1 Nassau Stakes!

Midday's affinity for the course was apparent, this was one of her best performances I have seen from her in her career, she didn't pull up today when she made the lead and her ability to quicken is 1st class. No excuses for the runner up, she ran a good second and she can move forward off of this race.
