Just a bit of new news on the David Milch/Michael Mann show "Luck" starring Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte. Joan Allen's going to be in multiple episodes as a woman running one of those programs where convicts work with ex-racehorses. She's pretty talented and a 3-time Oscar nominee.

You would think. Alas, not everyone does. I also suspected some folks used to but now only have room for thinking about Zenyatta this week and needed a refresher that other females exist in the world.

I had my doubts about this series but now that she's on board it's sure to be an instant classic.
