Man Jailed For Freeing His Dog From Pound

Instead of paying the $100 fine to bail his poodle out of the pound, this guy used a lawn tractor and bolt cutters to break his dog out of the pound. The guy got arrested for this which is understandable. But what is disgraceful is that while the man was serving the 10 days in jail, they euthanized his dog. They had no right to kill his dog. How can they kill a dog that belongs to someone when the dog had never hurt anyone?

Well ya know...he really could have saved everyone a lot by not letting his wuffy run loose.

But to do that to the doggie...they're pigs.

Plain and simple.

this story makes me sick

SCUDSBROTHER 10-25-2010 02:30 PM

He's upset they killed him, but he could of been killed any night he was letting the dog run loose.

True, unfortunately, the dog is the victim in the case of the town crackpot vs. the law. I wonder if his choice of using a lawnmower as a conveyance is due to a DUI.

from the article:

Chancellor said there were numerous complaints about Fry's dog.

Buddy Tough had already been in the city pound once before.

"He'd threatened to shoot us before, so I approached him with caution," Chancellor said. "I was afraid he might have had a rifle with him."
The cops have had prior experience with him:

Drug officer alleged target of man with weapons cache - Gerald Green @ 2:28 pm CST
A 65-year-old Hydro man has been charged with planning to kill or do bodily harm to R.C. Daniel, a member of the District 2 Drug Task Force.

Edwin B. Fry Sr. was taken into custody Monday outside his Hydro home after a clerk at a Clinton pawn shop told authorities that the man had purchased a bullet-proof vest and made threats against Daniel. The alleged intended victim is a former Custer County deputy sheriff who lives in Weatherford.

Fry was formally charged yesterday with “planning, attempting, conspiring or endeavoring to perform act of violence involving serious bodily harm – threats.” The crime is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison........

A story in this week’s Country Connection which serves the Hydro-Eakly area quoted a Caddo County deputy sheriff as saying that 24 loaded firearms were found in Fry’s house near each door and window, along with stacks of ammunition. The deputy, Linus Miller, also told the newspaper that there was an elaborate alarm system on all the doors and windows.........

The Eakly newspaper said Fry is a veteran and that marksmanship awards and other war mementos were found scattered about his house. The newspaper said he was taken initially for mental evaluation.

Still, there was no reason to put the dog down unless it was vicious.

I love the "failure to pay full attention to driving" arrest.

They could arrest 3/4 of Florida

Princess Doreen 10-27-2010 01:09 PM

Maybe they just told him they auffed his dog?!~

Antitrust32 10-27-2010 01:13 PM

Antitrust32 10-27-2010 01:16 PM

cant teach an old dog new tricks!

dellinger63 10-27-2010 09:05 PM

I think if they changed the stupid seat belt law or at least offered a premium on your insurance this would have never happened. Shiat a golf cart is more unsafe than a hybrid or smartcar.

Floriduh has a strict seatbelt law, but no motorcycle helmet law.

I got popped the other night for a burned out headlight and was relieved that I didn't get a ticket for no seatbelt.

(amazing that the $10.99 bulb has a date code of July 1994)
