The Intolerant Left
 

Typified by the Whoopi Goldberg/Joy Behar walkout last week, and, more seriously, the NPR firing of Juan Williams, the Left has shown that they have no tolerance for any viewpoint other than their own.

The "Politics of Personal Destruction" is their creation. They "interpret" the Constitution and the First Amendment to have limits on the Freedom of Speech.

Can there be any doubt? Time for a regime change.

The notion of "Political Correctness" must be destroyed, burned, and buried.

The concept of free speech has been trashed.

Joey...Honestly...the same thing applies to the right. Both sides are intolerant of opposite opinions. I think the right is and always has been far more intolerant than the left, but...I'm sure you disagree

More crazies on the right yes, but the mainstream opposition to "right ideas" is larger IMO....Therefore, if you take radicals out of it, I think the left leaners can be quite intolerant of the right's views...if that made any sense. :p

Plenty of "no tolerance" going around, and the vast majority hasn't been on the left.

Didn't see any of that, unless that's how you hear "Read the Constitution. Stop Spending. 'T.E.A. Taxed Enough Already'".

Did see plenty of the reverse: "Obama is the messiah" type language, ad nauseum.

If only those people were up in arms years ago about "Read the Constitution" when Bush started doing warrantless wiretaps.

If only they were screaming "Stop Spending" when Bush passed trillions in unfunded tax cuts, and started unfunded wars, that put us in deep, lasting debt.

The "Taxed Enough Already" crowd should be pretty happy, though, that they got an immediate $700 income tax cut the first year Obama was in office, and he'll extend the Bush tax cuts for the majority for at least another year (while repealing the tiny top level and cutting our national debt by one-third, trillions)

Why do some people insist on talking about "Freedom of Speech" concerning matters like what happened on The View or with Don Imus, or with countless other examples like that? Those things have nothing to do with the first amendment, which applies to actions taken by the federal government.

I like that you bemoan the lack of tolerance for others' ideas....and then argue that an idea different from your own should be "destroyed, burned, and buried," all in the same post.
I'd question the logic behind that if I thought for a single second that logic played any part in you forming your opinions about things.
