Online horse betting sites - Unable to fund

Can someone tell me why I can no longer fund my account with Youbet or Twinspires? Apparently it has something to do with VISA not opting in to some code or something.

Do you find the same issues? Is this forever? (If so, I am not able to play the races again).

Yeah it's a big brother law.

You can only send funds by carrier pigeon and that can take anywhere from 21-365 days to show up in your account.

Go to the grocery store, buy a Green Dot Money Pak. I've used them on youbet since the UIGEA went into effect with no problem.

With twinspires you can set it up to do an EFT from your bank account. The money shows up in your twinspires account within minutes. There are no charges assessed on either end of the transaction. I believe you will have to download and sign a form from twinspires and then send a voided blank check - but after that you should be good to go.

Best off finding a good bookie

Do you have to buy a new Green Dot card every time you get down to zero?

The offshores are still processing credit card deposits. There are a number of very good ones that process withdrawals as quickly as the ones in the U.S.

Yup. Meanwhile that doesn't help the pools.

Any recommendations? I've used Diamond Sports in the past, but recently have been unable to process deposits.

Hard to understand why you have been funding your account at Youbet with a debit card that charges almost 4%.
ExpressCash™
"Transfer funds between your checking account and Youbet.com wagering account effortlessly. ExpressCash is your fastest, easiest, and cheapest funding method. Youbet charges a nominal 0.89% processing fee with a minimum fee of $1 and a maximum fee of $5 per transaction."
I've been funding my Racing2Day account by check for the last 4 months.
I am nearing the end of a year long promotion in which they match $100 in my account if I deposit and wager $100 between the 1st and 15th of each month. It takes 3 or 4 business days for the check to clear so the window of opportunity to wager $100 can be as little as 5 racing days.
While it's not difficult to achieve the $100 threshold it is still a minor inconvenience.

There are some good deals offshore for rebates and track odds +, but it's a total pain in the rear to fund.

that's what i do with twin spires. my credit union won't process the eft....no problem!

Mastercard still can be used fairly reliably for funding at You Bet or Twin Spires.

Green Pack money cards have a one time $4.95 fee and cannot be reloaded though they are extremely easy to find at 7-11's or CVS pharmacies to name a few of the many places they are available.

Twin Spires is going to a one time $5 fee for all credit card transactions very soon rather than the 3.92% or thereabouts.

It all seems to change monthly lately.....

deltagulf 10-14-2010 09:28 PM

since twin bought out you bet when is it going to be one or the other, anybody knows.

Habersham000 10-14-2010 09:29 PM

If you in the Mid-atlantic or Southeast the bank BB&T work fine with their debit and credit cards for Twin Spires and Express Bet.

Thank you. I am always tempted to buy one and fund my account when there is a CVS rebate, but I would hate to have a useless card with 5 cents on it:wf

I have had no problems with eHorse, Bodog or BetUS. Able to deposit and withdraw on each with no problems. Better customer service than I ever had with TVG, Youbet or Twinspires, too.

Try "mind" Betting, you still feel good when your horse wins

Not really. Feel good when your horse loses and you didn't lose money on it.
