Breast Cancer Funding

Amazing how successful they are raising money each year. We have the ribbons up in my neighborhood. Virtually every NFL player wore pink cleats today. Baseball uses pink bats around Mother's Day. I've read that some women don't like the "overuse of pink..." I mean, I don't know, if they are raising money for finding a cure it seems worrying about color overload seems shortsighted.

Randall: like every good thing, somebody's gotta put in their 2 cents!

Think about it. What reason (given for not wearing the pink) is gunna be good enough? They've all measured this, and I guess it's one of the least painful honey dos (or son dos.)

Speaking as someone who lost two family members to breast cancer (my mom, when she was 35, and an aunt, at 59), the pink ribbon stuff drives me crazy. I get it; you want to raise awareness. Great; I think most people are aware of breast cancer. What most people aren't is knowledgeable about it. The meltdown in the press last year over the suggestion about changing mammogram recommendations was a classic example. People slap a ribbon on their car, or wear a colored shirt and figure they've done what they can. But ask them a simple question about the issue they're "raising awareness" for, and they can't answer it.

I am against breast cancer funding. As well as any charity "FOR" any disease.

Have you seen the stupidity he posts? I wouldn't assume anything, especially because his post says "I am against breast cancer funding."

Hopefully he'll explain it because I cant think of any reason for any person on this planet to be against funding breast cancer research.

Noone should assume anything, it just makes you an ass. At least the lady is smarter than you are.

I am for anti-breast cancer funding. And other causes that don't use 4 in their names and/or phone numbers (unless, of course, it is "Run for a Cure", that actually makes sense).

edit---btw---What specific stupidity are you referring to? The "killer cop" thread?

You are far and away the biggest moron I have ever encountered online. That is really saying something. You should be very proud.
