Sumwon and her foal, Saturday September 25, 2010
 

I had a great visit with Sumwon and her foal last Saturday. The last time I saw the foal, she was 2 1/2 weeks old, spindly and skittish. Five months later, she was friendly and curious. Sumwon, more mellow than when she was at the track, still loves carrots and peppermints.

OH MY what a cutie - thank you !!!! was just asked over the weekend if anybody had been out to see SWLY lately and what the foal looks like at approx. 5 months (??) - now have the answer for em lol - thanks again..

Thanks so much for posting those pics, Unstable. There will always be a soft spot in my heart for Sumwon. She is a treasure, and that apple doesn't look like it fell far from the tree.

Thanks to Jonathon for getting down to Northview to check on the girls and the photos! The baby looks terrific.

Great to hear you had a nice visit and boy is she cute, mom and filly. What are they calling the filly around the barn?

This time, I didn't get a chance to talk to the person who dotes on the foal, so I can't tell you the barn nickname. I just call her Little Sumwon ( but wno knows? She may grow to be bigger than her momma.).

When was she born again? She is probably gonna get weened(?) pretty soon I would think.

April 22. And yes. She'll be weaned shortly.

time flies, that's for sure. i figured weaning would take place soon-always traumatic, but she'll be fine. they all are, but they act like the aren't! she's certainly changed since the last set of pics. sumwon looks good, as does the filly. glad you visited and took pics!
