You're welcome.

Wow I'd forgotten there was only one.

Thanks for the heads up. Will definitely keep an eye on this one.

If he's anything like his mom... :)

She had an Empire Maker filly in 2009, but something evidently happened to her.

This baby is it. If he's anything like his mom, we're in for a gutsy, determined, throw down type of horse. Like mom, like son. I hope. :)

By Distorted Humor, keep us posted on his progress . Maybe the Empire Maker filly will surface since she was just foaled in 2009, 9 days before her mom passed .

go to www.simhorseracing.com and look under Distorted Humor and you'll find the name The Daily Show.

Thank you for this info. I did check this out and The Daily Show is listed as a 9 yr. old mare. Happy Ticket would also be a 9 year old mare since she was foaled in 2001.

I spoke with Mr. Madison at the Super Derby last year and he was very upset about Happy Ticket but was excited about the foal. Good luck to him!

from what i read, the filly born nine days before her mother passed was healthy. i wrote to the farm, inquiring on her since seeing this thread. haven't heard back yet, but hope the empire maker filly is still well.

Very classy guy and the type of owner you have to love, he was as interested in talking about his horses as he was the following day's Pick 4 because he likes to place a wager or two.

From a well respected poster on another forum:

"There's a death report on file for the Happy Ticket's Empire Maker. "

Yes, it is. I loved Ticket and hoped whatever foals she had would help soften the sting of her dying so young.

Danzig 09-22-2010 06:41 AM

i received a reply from Glencrest about the happy ticket filly. she was euthanized last fall after breaking a leg. such a shame.
here's hoping mr. ticket does his mother proud.
