Saratoga Public Handicappers Scorecard

http://www.equidaily.com/bestbet/saratog2.html

Bill Taylor Saratogian 131-394
Matt Graves Albany Times Union 130-394 ... $752.00
Dave LitfinDaily Racing Form 128-395
Mark Cusano Daily [Schenectady] Gazette 120-395
Mark HoffmanThe [Amsterdam] Recorder 119-393 ... $812.00

"Also putting up solid numbers, the group in the 109-120 range - and near the top of that group was Mark Hoffman of The Recorder [Amsterdam, NY] who tallied the highest ROI among the handicappers that keep track of those totals. He was the only one among those recording ROI numbers to 'beat the meet' and show a flat-bet profit."

I don't see any that increase their mythical $1,000 bank roll .

randallscott35 09-15-2010 08:36 PM

Which shows why betting every race is a fool's errand.

Great job HHH. To have a positive ROI during that meet is a nice accomplishment.

3H Club...I knew you were better than Randy.

Always did.

Fine work.

Kudos to HHH for being the best of the crew...

I do have a question: Is there some info missing? How do you have a positive ROI ("beating the Saratoga meet") and yet not increase the bankroll from its original balance ($1000)?

maybe this scorecard is based on 395 races at $2.00 per race

joeydb 09-16-2010 09:29 AM

OK, I was able to get to the site and now I think I understand.

If you wagered $2 for 393 races ($786 total) and the balance went to $812, you'd be $26 ahead, beating the meet. (this is all obviously paraphrasing what HHH said in his blog)

So, to compare apples and apples, his $1000 mythical bankroll, which he did not use all of, would have been $1026...
