nfl 'solidarity'

was just wondering what everyone thought about the 'number one' demonstration pre-game last night? do the players really, really think that the common fan gives a damn if they make more money? if they get a bigger slice of the pie? that they're in this struggle together? just play the game. i have a hard time digging up any sympathy in the recesses of my heart for a group of millionaires.

I feel the same way about the backstretch workers at Saratoga. F.uck those losers. They're Mexicans anyways. It's better than those mud huts they lived in back home.

it's millionaires vs. billionaires and as a thousandaire i probably shouldn't care. but at least the millionaires have a talent beyond being born rich.

i don't like the red sox or the yankees. but when it comes down to it, i'd rather root for the red sox.

Apparently they united both in labor struggle and in producing the most disappointing season opener ever. What a terrible game.

I agree completely. Now that the demonstration has been seen and everyone knows what it is, I expect at least a smattering of boo's will be heard in many cities.

I have no issue with the players doing this. The typical NFL career is short, the contracts aren't guaranteed and the owners are all still making tons of money, just a little less than they used to. For the most part the players in sports get a lot of the blame when there are labor problems but for the most part the owners should be the ones who are blamed. Very few NFL players retire rich.

It was pretty awful. Like a 5th preeason game. I'm sure those first couple of games with the expanded schedule will be beautiful with even less time to prepare.
