Hopeful probables

By NYRA PRESS OFFICE | Aug 27, 2006

per NYRA.com

On closing day the Grade 1, $250,000 Hopeful will be run for the 102nd time. A select field of two-year olds looks to go to post in the seven-furlong race, led by the Todd Pletcher-trained, and undefeated Scat Daddy. Winner of the Grade 2 Sanford on July 27th, he will go to post a worthy favorite against Circular Quay, also trained by Pletcher, Irish Ace, Pegasus Wind, Rajjaas, and Unbridled Express. Buffalo Man is possible.

Pegasus Wind wins this race.

The japanese contingent is rooting for Scat Daddy as am I.

Balletto 08-28-2006 11:35 AM

I'll go for a price and say Rajjaas.

Agreed, though it will be interesting to see Scat Daddy and CQ after all of the hype about those two.

Wow...I like this lineup.
I missed Scat Daddy's maiden win, but saw both Circular Quay's races. Unbridled Express crushed a decent maiden field at Churchill in July.
I'm sure we'll see many of these from this field back in the BCJ in November.
