Karelian released from Rood & Riddle

It hurts just reading what happened to the poor horse. I'm sure we're all wishing the folks at Green Lantern Stables the best as Karelian continues his recovery.

Wow I had no idea about any of this.

Hope he continues to improve, poor guy.

Thanks for posting.

What was more important to do, fix the one that earned a pile, or using the resources(money) to save healthy others in need? It's a tough question, I have only my thoughts, I dont think there is a right or wrong answer.. Enjoy a real question!

I don't think it's a tough question at all.

He's a member of their family.

I'd say both.

What a great outcome for the story. The picture of him cantering and happy in his pasture is terrific.

And in answer to the question: You save the one in front of you.

He earned almost $800k.. I think it was a great show of gratitude on their part to give him a chance to at least have a happy life. As the article says, any sign of a bad step they would have stopped.

I didnt suggest they should not have helped the horse live. Consider all the ones that could have been saved without risk with those dollars spent for that one animal. Again there is no right or wrong answer.

I am going to save my horse, the horse I care about, rather than strangers horses, first. There is no way I'd euthanize my horse if I could save it, in favor of donating that money to charity for other horses I don't know.

Nice update, he sounds like such a great horse to be around. :)
