Pants..

We may get away with weather. Had it rained all day today as was originally forecast, the turf races might be threatened. But right now, things are OK with even some sun peaking through.

The good news is that the turf course will be back to fair for the rest of the stand after being a highway for much of the last three weeks.

Just glancing over the sextet it is an extremely difficult sequence on or off the turf.

What are the chances it carries again? 1 IN 3?

Depends on the feature with Mr. Personality. I say the horse throws in a clunker but the way I'm picking them right now he'll probably win by 20.

RockHardTen1985 08-24-2010 05:40 PM

Im handicapping it now for on the turf, no rain here today.

Surely you jest. Given NYRA's history, plan on ONE race per turf course tomorrow; and selected races off till the end of the week.

RockHardTen1985 08-24-2010 05:49 PM

With this carryover and no rain since Monday, I have faith in NYRA.

NTamm1215 08-24-2010 06:16 PM

The 6th is the likeliest to come off the turf. Turf sprints have generally been the first to be taken off and that race will have a relatively big field on dirt.

As far as which races are taken off, I understand taking the sprints off first because those put far more pressure on the course than routes. Hopefully they'll be on because it's a nice sequence that is VERY challenging.

It's always easy when you single a 2YO from a freshman sire who hasn't had a debut winner and a trainer who's 0 for his last 46 with debuting 2YOs at Saratoga.

What is the contest budget, $2000?
Ill have to add to this.... I might actually put that $72 ticket in, you gotta take stands somewhere.

Or you can not play a pick 6. Taking a stand in that kind of sequence will more than likely burn the ticket.

LOL. There are three two-year-old turf races, two of them blind, and this dude said it's easy. :zz:
