From the Welcome Page:

If the future of horse racing is to be as bright as its past we must start working together to bring about positive changes. The race tracks, horse owners, and racing fans must all have a seat at the table.

Through this website, Racingfuture.com, it is my hope that we can begin to discuss the problems we face and begin the process of growing our sport by implementing meaningful changes in the way we do business.

Together, owners and fans provide the foundation for our sport. With a shrinking ownership group the quality of the product we are marketing to our fan base suffers. With a shrinking fan base, the purse structure suffers which reduces the incentive for owners to buy and race horses. Fewer owners and fans at the base obviously impacts the race track owners, trainers, jockeys, and breeders. It is imperative that we begin recruiting new owners and fans to strengthen the base and provide a solid foundation for future growth.

In the coming months we will be using Racingfuture.com as a platform for gathering new ideas. We will work hard to implement these ideas and will report back to you on our progress.

Thanks for your interest in this site and in the great sport of horse racing. I look forward to hearing from you.

the future is test tubes and an offshore track w/perfect weather and no tax take-out. Other than that listen to 'ching, ching, chang, lets play jeopardy, ching ching ching, wheel of fortune, ching ching ching........

Before they start can we agree to make any and all poker/slot machines silent?

Racing needs a single national betting exchange market with strong liquidity that inflicts only a reasonable per race commission. It also needs to bring a whole lot of innovation and razzle dazzle into it. The liquidity will probably have to come from a market maker .. which means it will probably need to rely heavily on BetFair or else hire its own people to do this - and basically become a bookmaking operation in the process - one that will have to take a lot of risks.
