c'mon lower the age of retirement to 30 and give 4 yrs unemployment and the people who worked and made it only have to come up w/5 yrs pay and all is Allah!

I fear our Pres has a wee bit less common sense than our village idiot.

Is there anyone on here that really believes unemployment should be extended to 208 weeks? 99 weeks is way more than enough and that is only cause the economy is terrible that they are going for that long.

In a little less than 2 years the ship USS FU shall be so erect, the derelicts will be flung off and the rest of the world will be on their knees sucking and swallowing and liking it :)

No matter how long you can collect unemployment there will always be freeloaders wanting a free ride. I have already seen it on television people collecting unemployment and not looking for a job because they make more money collecting unemployment. More than likely these are the same one's who are going to benefit from the new healthcare bill. A shame that us taxpaying citizens have to support low life trash like that. Im also thinking that some of them are spending thier money on drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes.

Each year, a remarkable 30 percent of Danes change jobs, knowing the system will allow them to pay rent and buy food so they can focus on landing a new position. About 80 percent belong to unions, which manage the workplace, help run the unemployment insurance program and press the laid-off into retraining.

:zz:

and this is the country we are supposed to be jealous of???

I guess you think its ok for someone to collect unemployment and not look for a job while collecting unemployment. Maybe you dont want to hear the truth. I am not implying that everyone is doing it.

miraja2 08-18-2010 01:02 PM

Did people not read the part of the article about the current unemployment rate being only 4.2%?

the truth is that if you're unemployed, you're going to jump thru alotta hoops to get a new(better) job than before. It's a bitch having interview after interview, only to be told you are over-qualified, or being put on the "hire" list, but they don't have the money to put you to work. After awhile you just
pick up the check they give you at UE office and try to get by till your next check.

Tim, luckily I have only had to interview once for a job , have never collected unemployment checks and I'm definitely not over-qualified for anything. After 31 years getting paid by the same company, I have just taken it upon myself to get a part-time job of giving certain racing fans on here a hard time and I think my part-time job sometimes pays off better than my real job.

This out-sourcing and H1b thing isn't working out so well.. You need to employ your own citizens as they are the ones pumping it back into the economy. Of course no on will admit it and we won't see it in the press because the media companies do it too. Just cutting costs so the next quarter looks good and they can cash out their millions in stock options.. We are circling the drain.
