Beyer adjustment question
Forgive the ignorance here, but just noticed something with Arlington and I don't understand the reasoning.
In the printed copy of Friday's racing form that I got online after entries were drawn on Sunday, R Rich E. Rich (9th race) showed an 85 Beyer for running second to Collidin, who was originally given a 91 in that June 27 run. When I downloaded an electronic copy today, R Rich E. Rich now shows a 78, and looking back, Collidin has been downgraded to an 84. Since that race, Collidin came back run a significantly lower Beyer than that original 91, and now his race two back has been downgraded at some point between Sunday and now. However, a horse called Zagamor ran in a sprint race just an hour earlier, and his Beyer remains unchanged. Also, a horse called Sam's Philly ran later in the day at a sprint on the Poly, and his Beyer also remains unchanged. It seems unlikely to me that the track would be playing one way at 1:30p, another at 2:30p, and then be back to the original way by 3:30p. So long story short, did this Beyer get cut loose just because Collidin came back to run a much poorer race than his original 91? Because I'm having trouble figuring out a weather-related issue of any kind that would call for cutting loose a race right in the middle of two other Poly races. Any help? |
