10 cent super downside
I know we have all talked about the 10 centers before. We were all pretty much in agreement that they are a good thing, if only for the tax break, they make sense.
However, talking to a player with a much much bigger bankroll the other night got me thinking. He hate the 10 cent bet because he always plays large super tickets and he plays with them deep with a lot of horses. He's pissed because he never ever gets paid on the ALL anymore. Has anyone seen the tracks with 10 centers pay the ALL? I never played supers deep enough where I got paid on an ALL, but I can see where some big players might have hit them often enough to miss them now. Also, because there is no ALL payout, there are a few huge supers that are paid to 1 or 2 winners, usually with a 10 cent ticket. These people get the entire pool with a 10 cent bet the same pool that someone with a $10 ticket would get. Any thoughts? |
play the super quick draw for 10 cents

never have played one, never will. i prefer the dollar. and what the hell, it's only money.

It's easy to tell when the 10 cent hits the whole pool. Some small track will have payouts of $1 super = $120,000 10 cent = $12,000
Obviously the track only had $12,000 in the Super pool. I do love when I hit a 10 cent for $500 on a $3 ticket, but like any gambler I get pissed I didn't hit $5,000 for $30. |
only time I ever play them at the OTB is when my voucher as an odd amount on it. I will use the .70 cents or say and just play 7 .10 cent quick picks.
